Lifestyle Changes For thought?

Lifestyle changes for thought! What is this?

As the season’s changes, so do our bodies. As a healthcare professional with a holistic background, many friends, colleagues and patients ask me, how can they lose weight, how can I detoxify? Well my general rules are as follows:

-   Drink lots of water!

-   Get enough sleep

- Eat healthy, no you do not need to calorie count, eat foods that are found in their natural state such as fresh fruit, vegetables. Hmmm, is packaged sandwich meat found in a natural state? The answer is no, so try using some of your left over chicken breast from the night before to make yourself a Panini sandwich.

-You don’t like meat, how about eating nuts as high protein energy.

- Eliminate sodas; that will cut a lot of weight gain in a year, and stop eating at fast food restaurants.

-Best of all, do some exercise, no not a marathon, take a walk down the block, up a beach, join yoga, Tai Chi, jogging. Myself, I like to kick- box to get the really good cardio workout. In my spare time, I try to do things I enjoy, that do not feel like a chore, such as surfing and snowboarding. But it is up to you, you need to find what suits your lifestyle and what is safe. Remember to consult with your health care professional when trying a new exercise/diet program.

-  I like to consider these all lifestyle choices. Here is an example of a detoxifying shake that can be taken in the morning.

ü    1 banana (excellent sodium and potassium)

ü    1 inch of fresh ginger (increases circulation, warming Chinese herb)

ü    1 fresh lemon, juice squeezed into blender (liver tonic)

ü    Small handful of fresh parsley (aids in digestion)

ü    1 tbsp of cold pressed olive oil/flax seed oil (essential fatty acids)

ü    Fresh frozen berries (i.e. blueberries high in antioxidants)

ü    Purified water to desired amount approx ½ cup (not full of contaminants)

ü    Blend all this in blender and enjoy!!!

  1. Hi it’s Loke! I like your page it’s cute because I can picture you saying something like “is packaged sandwich meat found in a natural state?” :)

  2. Hello everyone I thought I would share this email I received from a reader just like you, I thought it was a perfect testimonial to that lifestyle changes truly work, if you work hard at it. I did change the persons name, due to respect of confidentiality purposes, so read and enjoy. I would love to hear more of your experiences.

    “Hey Natasha,

    Awesome site! How are you?

I just wanted to share a quick story with you. When we first moved back to Canada three years ago, I had high Cholesterol, total was 6.92. They wanted to put me on medication but I wanted to try diet and exercise first. I was eating better but didn’t pay much attention to it for almost three years. In the summer I had it re-checked (due to applying for life insurance) and it was down to 5.93 this is good but still elevated. Over the last three months I’ve been exercising and eating very well, just like your article suggests and my total cholesterol is now down to 4.62 with all my level in the normal range.

It was cool to see what you wrote cause I’ve already benefited from it.

    Cheers,

    (Robert-name changed for confidentilaity purposes)
